About

We sell dates.
We also tell you
exactly which ones.

Almost everyone in this market says the same three things: original, imported, best price. None of it can be checked, and most buyers have been let down at least once. So we went the other way and started publishing the numbers instead.

The principle

Premium is a claim.
A number is a fact.

Every variety we sell carries a grade sheet on its own product page. Growing region, harvest year, pieces per kilo, moisture, sweetness, skin condition, and a batch code that matches the one printed on the pack in your hand.

None of that is impressive on its own. It is simply information a seller already has and usually chooses not to share, because sharing it makes you accountable for it. That is the point. If a batch arrives and does not match what we published, you can see it, and you can send it back.

We would rather lose one order than have somebody tell people we overstated a grade.

How we think about it

Origin

Three regions, because no one country grows all of them well.

Most sellers here print a single country on everything and hope nobody checks. Our six varieties come from three different places, and we name the region rather than the country.

01

Al Madinah

المدينة المنورة

Ajwa, Amber, Mabroom and Kalmi all come from the palm belt around Madinah. Four of our six, and the ones people buy on name recognition.

Saudi Arabia · Harvest Aug – Sep

02

Al Qassim

القصيم

Zahidi country. Buraydah, in this region, runs the largest date market in the world. Our Zahidi is a cooking and everyday date, not a lesser one.

Saudi Arabia · Harvest Aug – Oct

03

Bam, Kerman

بم، كرمان

Mazafati is Iranian and we say so. It is wetter and softer than anything grown in the Hijaz, and it needs refrigeration.

Iran · Harvest Sep – Oct

Where we draw the line

Five things we will not do.

Most of these are normal in this category. That is why they are worth saying out loud.

Glaze the fruit

No syrup or oil coating to make dull dates look glossy. If a batch looks tired, it is a tired batch and it does not go out.

Repack old stock as new

The harvest year is printed on the pack. Last season’s fruit gets sold as last season’s fruit, at last season’s price.

Write our own reviews

Our product pages say nobody has reviewed them. We would rather show an empty page than a manufactured one.

Call anything organic without a certificate

Organic is a certification, not an adjective. Until we hold one and can print the number, we describe what is in the product instead.

Blur the origin

Our Mazafati is Iranian. Saying Saudi across the whole range would be easier and would sell better. It would also be untrue.
